Getting started
What does DeepGraph look at?
The history of your projects: who made each change, when, which files changed, and how many lines were added and removed. It never runs your code.
Where can my projects come from?
GitHub, GitLab (gitlab.com), Bitbucket (bitbucket.org), or your own computer. Paste a link to a public project, sign in to pick projects you can access, or choose a folder on your computer.
Do I need an account?
Not to try DeepGraph on a public project. Sign in to use your GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket account, to analyze projects on your computer, and to keep your reports. Getting started walks you through each option.
Does it work with GitLab or Bitbucket servers my company runs itself?
Not yet. DeepGraph works with GitHub, gitlab.com, bitbucket.org, and projects on your computer.
Do reports update on their own?
Projects connected through GitHub, GitLab.com, or Bitbucket.org can update when changes reach their main branch, when your connection gives DeepGraph permission to receive update notifications. Other projects, including local projects, update when you run the report again.
Plans and billing
How does the free trial work?
Every new account gets a 14-day Core trial. No payment details are required, and the trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. Scale requires a paid subscription; there is no Scale trial. See plans and pricing for what each includes.
What are the plan limits?
Limits count everything in your account, however you arrange it in folders, and whichever limit you reach first applies. Without an account: 5 projects and 1 GB of project history. Core: 25 projects and 5 GB. Scale: 100 projects and 25 GB, and your reports are prepared before others that are waiting. The trial has Core limits. Your reports are prepared one at a time; any others wait their turn.
How do paid subscriptions work?
Choose Core or Scale on the pricing page. Payments are handled by Paddle, our reseller and merchant of record. Prices are in euros and include VAT where applicable. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Check the amount in checkout before confirming payment.
Can I upgrade from Core to Scale?
If you have an active paid Core subscription, open the pricing page and choose Upgrade. Review the charge for the remaining part of your billing period and the next renewal before confirming. Scale starts after payment is confirmed. During a Core trial, choosing either paid plan starts a paid subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can get your money back within 14 days of any payment, no questions asked. See our Refund Policy.
What happens when my trial or plan ends?
Your projects stay in your account, but you can't open their reports until a plan is active again. Open plans and pricing to choose a paid subscription. If you need help with an existing subscription, contact support.
How do I cancel?
Go to Settings → Billing and choose Cancel subscription, then confirm. You can also cancel your current paid subscription on the pricing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period and does not renew. Cancelling does not request a refund; use the Refund Policy if you want your money back.
Do you have plans for large companies?
Contact us to discuss Enterprise capacity, support, and deployment options. Enterprise is priced by individual quote, with scope and delivery agreed in writing before purchase. See the Enterprise plan guide.
Your data and privacy
What leaves my computer when I analyze a project on it?
Your browser uploads the project's history (its hidden .git folder), including saved versions of your files. It does not upload separate working files or unsaved edits. You need an account for this, and the project is private to you.
Can DeepGraph see my private projects?
Only the ones you allow. For GitHub, you pick the projects when you set up the DeepGraph GitHub App, and you can change your choice on GitHub at any time.
How do I delete my data?
Delete your account in Settings → Account. This removes your account with all its projects and reports. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Reports
Why does one person show up more than once?
People often save changes under different names or email addresses. Join them into one profile from the list of people.
How do I see what happened on a day?
Hover over an activity chart for totals. Click a day to open its details, then select a contributor or profile to see their commits for that day. Open a commit to see its file changes. The same day details are available from contributor profiles and the small charts on contributor cards.
How should I read the numbers?
As a picture of activity, next to the changes behind them, and never as a score for a person. The same number can mean very different work.
